As a component of the Auburn SPARKS initiative the City Office of Planning and Economic Development has spent the past 18 months reviewing and updating a proposed comprehensive change to the City of Auburn's Zoning Code (Chapter 305).  A 75% draft of the proposed changes to the Zoning Code is available for public review (see attachment PDF) and a Public Hearing on this 75% draft will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 6pm as part of that week's City Council meeting in the Council Chambers of Memorial City Hall, 24 South Street, Auburn.   Following public input on the 75% draft document, a final draft document of the comprehensive change to the Zoning Code, Chapter 305 of the City of Auburn, NY City Code will be presented to the Auburn City Council for a first reading at the Tuesday, November 21, 2017 City Council meeting.  A public hearing on this final draft will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 6pm as part of that week's City Council meeting in the Council Chambers of Memorial City Hall, 24 South Street, Auburn.  The City Council will be scheduled to consider adoption of the final draft of the comprehensive change to the Zoning Code at the December 7, 2017 City Council meeting which will be held at 6pm in the Council Chambers of Memorial City Hall, 24 South Street, Auburn.  Scroll down this webpage for more information on this process.

The City of Auburn Office of Planning and Economic Development has spent the past 18 months working through a public process known as Auburn SPARKS to prepare a comprehensive update to the City of Auburn Zoning Ordinance.  A PDF copy of the 75% Draft of this comprehensive update to the City of Auburn’s Zoning Ordinance Chapter 305 of the City Code is available for public review at the following link:  75% Draft Comprehensive Update City of Auburn Zoning Code.

The Auburn City Council will be asked to adopt this revised Zoning Ordinance later this year in the second half of November 2017.

The City Council will be tentatively scheduling a public hearing on this 75% draft document for Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 6:00pm to be held as part of the regular weekly City Council meeting.
