In response to the President signing the federal Tax Cuts and Jobs Act on December 22, 2017, Governor Andrew  Cuomo issued an Executive Order that local governments are authorized to issue their warrants to allow for early payment of 2018 tax bills no later than 11:59 p.m. on December 28, 2017. The executive order calls for the tax collecting jurisdiction to allow for collection each business day of December following and including the day of the issuance of the warrant. Lastly, the order directs local governments to accept partial payments for all business days in December 2017 whether or not the local government has adopted the required resolution to do so.

Notice is hereby given that at the request of Mayor Quill a Special Meeting of the Auburn City Council will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 3 p.m. to be held in the Council Chambers, first floor, Memorial City Hall, 24 South Street in Auburn.  The purpose of the meeting will be for the Council to consider Council Resolution #184 of 2017 Adopting the 2018 Cayuga County Tax Rate and City of Auburn Share of the Cayuga Community College Charges.  Adoption of this resolution will allow Cayuga County to create the 2018 tax warrant. Creation of the warrant will then allow the City to collect the County taxes for the 2018 year. 2018 County taxes on properties within the City of Auburn will be available for prepayment on Thursday December 28th.
