FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: December 26, 2017 2:50 p.m.
Notice is hereby given that at the request of Mayor Quill a Special Meeting of the Auburn City Council will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 3 p.m. to be held in the Council Chambers, first floor, Memorial City Hall, 24 South Street in Auburn.
The purpose of the meeting will be for the Council to consider Council Resolution #184 of 2017 Adopting the 2018 Cayuga County Tax Rate and City of Auburn
Share of the Cayuga Community College Charges.
"It is important that we do everything we can on the local level to help city taxpayers so that they can take advantage of the current full deduction for state and local taxes on their federal tax before the law changes next year”, stated Mayor Quill.
Last week Governor Andrew Cuomo issued an Executive Order authorizing localities to issue warrants for the collection of early tax payments. Adoption of Council Resolution 184 of 2017 will allow for City of Auburn property tax payers to be able to pay their 2018 County Tax Bills early.
