Now in its third year the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) program is a major initiative introduced by Governor Cuomo which will invest $100 million in ten downtown communities throughout the state of NY. One community in each region of the state will be awarded a $10 million grand towards downtown revitalization projects. Auburn is in the Central New York economic development region.
The Month of May is also National Historic Preservation Month and the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s “This Place Matters” campaign encourages people to celebrate the places that are meaningful to them and to their communities. So, this year we are merging Preservation Month with our 2018 DRI public comment process. We ask you to share your thoughts for why Downtown matters. Please use this “This Place Matters” Idea Card to submit your ideas and public comments on how “This Place Matters” for the 2018 City of Auburn Downtown Revitalization Initiative.
