2023 Road Program
Public Notice: New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG) has been replacing gas main lines in the Walnut Street area. These are NYSEG contractors conducting this work, not the City of Auburn. NYSEG reports to the City that the work in the Walnut Street area will be completed by the end of 2023.

September 21, 2022. The microsurfacing crew is scheduling road work to be performed in the City of Auburn. Planned Microsurface streets by Suit-Kote Corporation:
Thursday 9/22/2022:
- Genesee Street from Hunters Diner - East Side of Bridge to North Street, Genesee St. will be single lane and allow West Bound traffic only.
- Fulton Street from E Genesee St to Arterial East. Fulton St will be single lane access North Bound.
- Chase Street Ext. (entire street) Chase St will allow single lane access to accommodate businesses.
Suit-Kote will notify all residents with door hanger notifications stating that the road will need to be closed, and require residents to stay parked in their driveways or on adjacent streets until the material has reached its approximately 2 hour cure time, after which the streets will be open for traffic.
Microsurfacing is a 2-step process which will require a second coat (overlay treatment) following the initial scratch coating which could be installed either the same day or the following day, weather permitting. Any planned work delays due to rain or other unforeseen circumstances will be rescheduled and the affected residents will be notified again.
If delayed because of rain, work will not be rescheduled until next week.

August 25, 2022
The $1.6 million dollar 2022 Road Program with Paul F. Vitale, Inc. is approximately 50% completed. As Vitale is waiting for the curbing Sub-Contractor to install the necessary granite curbing at the street corners, he is adjusting structures and driveway approaches to grade. To-date all street milling, and installation of the asphalt binder course operations have been completed. After the contractor finishes the structure adjustments and curbing installation, the installation of the Asphalt top course should commence.
The Curbing sub-contractor is presently scheduled to start operations shortly after Labor Day. Within a couple weeks after the Curbing is installed the contractor should be able to start the final street paving operations followed by driveway and lawn restoration work. The present contract is on schedule and within the contract amount.
Attached are status updates of the 2022 Road Program, the first completed phases of the 2022 Phase I Micro-Surfacing and 2022 Phase I Crack-Sealing Programs, and the proposed second phase of the 2022 Micro-Surfacing and Crack-Sealing Programs. The second phase of the 2022 Micro-Surfacing program is scheduled for Mid-September and the second phase of the 2022 Crack-Sealing program is scheduled for October.

September 3, 2021 Road Program Update: Weather permitting binder course is to be applied on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at the following Streets:
- Perrine Street from State Street to Railroad Tracks
- Lansing Street from North Street to Nelson Street
- Orchard Ave from Washington to Orchard St (top course)
Weather permitting top course is to be applied on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at the following streets:
- Lexington Avenue from Genesee Street to dead end
- Dunning Avenue from Clymer to West Clymer Street
- Meadowbrook Drive from Valley Dr to Ashbaugh Avenue
- Quill Avenue from Clymer Street North to the Oak Creek Apartments
Starting on Tuesday June 29th, 2021 Paul F. Vitale Inc. (Vitale) will be milling the streets listed below in the City of Auburn. Vitale will then proceed with manhole adjustments, curbing, followed by final asphalt pavement.
Vitale will notify all residents with door hanger notifications and no parking signs on the sides of the street. They are requesting that all cars be off the street between 6:45 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. during milling and paving operations. Vitale will make accommodations for residents to get their vehicles in and out of their driveways to the best of their abilities during all stages of the project.
The following is the list of streets to be done:
- Quill Avenue from Clymer St. north 700' to Tee
- Meadowbrook Drive from Ashbaugh Avenue to Valley Drive
- Dunning Avenue from W. Clymer St. to Clymer St.
- Garrow St. from Fitch Avenue to Chapman Avenue
- Parker St. from W. Genesee St. to Fitch Avenue
- Pleasant St. from Baker Avenue to W. Genesee St.
- Orchard St. from Columbus St. to Baker Avenue
- Orchard Avenue from Orchard St. to Washington St.
- Ross Place from W. Genesee St. to Woodlawn Avenue
- Fort St from W. Genesee St. to Westlake Avenue
- Easterly Avenue from Chedell Place to Woodruff Place
- Chedell Place from South St. to Easterly Avenue
- Lexington Ave from W. Genesee St. to north end
On August 5, 2021 the City Council authorized the following streets be added to the 2021 program:
- Thornton Ave between Clymer Street and St. Anthony Street
- Perrine Street from State Street easterly to the Railroad Tracks
- Lansing Street between North Street and Nelson Street.
