City Clerk

All documents pertaining to the Auburn City Council's weekly meeting are available online. Council meeting agendas are posted the Friday prior to the weekly Thursday meeting.


The City Clerk is the official custodian of all City records serving as the City's Records Management Officer. The Clerk authenticates all contracts and agreements authorized by City Officials. The Clerk also presents resolutions and communications at weekly City Council meetings, is responsible for preparing minutes of City Council meetings and for posting the agenda, as well as various other community notices.

Other responsibilities of the Office of City Clerk include administration the City Clerk's Office. This office issues: Bingo and Games of Chance Licenses, Fire Prevention Permits, and Dog licenses.

The Clerk's office is responsible for issuing certificates of marriage, certified copies birth and death records, genealogical searches, enforcing the city's dog control ordinance, coordinating with the Board of Elections for city voters, City Records Management and Access, maintaining Soule Cemetery Records and Deeds, responding to requests for information under the NYS Freedom of Information Law and maintaining Vital Records for City of Auburn residents.
