Corporation Counsel

The Department of Law, headed by the Corporation Counsel, provides a wide range of legal services to the City of Auburn, its legislative body and its various departments, which include:

• Counsel to Mayor and Council, City Manager, all City Departments, and all City Boards and Committees
• Prosecute and defend all actions brought by or against the above
• Prepare and approve as to form Ordinances, Local Laws and Council Resolutions
• Prepare and review all contracts for the City of Auburn
• Process and investigate all claims against the City of Auburn
• Manage all Labor issues
• Review and defend all assessment and tax certiorari claims
• Examine and approve title to all real property acquired by the City of Auburn and prepare documents and proceedings for the sale of City owned property
