What is the Neighborhood Watch Program?
  • Method of joining together with the community to prevent crime and reduce fear in the neighborhood
  • Anybody can join
  • Members learn how to make their homes more secure and how to recognize and report suspicious activities in the neighborhood
What is suspicious activity?
  • When a person’s conduct or action does not fit the norm in the neighborhoodNeighborhood watch warning sign
  • An occurrence that should not be happening under normal circumstances
  • Use your intuition – if you feel something is wrong, it’s always best to report it.
Things to look for:
  • Somebody in need of help
  • Somebody looking into cars, houses, or closed businesses
  • Cars, trucks, or vans driving slowly down the street without an apparent destination or with their lights off
  • Vehicles parked for extended time period with vehicle occupied by subject
How to report a crime:
  • Call 911
  • Give your name and address
  • Describe the event(s) and suspect info, in as much detail as possible
  • Describe the suspect’s vehicle, if applicable
