City of Auburn Mayors
The elected officials of Auburn are the mayor and four councilors; they each serve for a four-year term. The Mayor is the presiding officer and along with the members of City Council they meet to act on the business of the city. While originally settled as Hardenbergh Corners in 1793, Auburn was incorporated as a city in 1848 with Cyrus C. Dennis serving as our first Mayor. As seen below, a portrait of Mayor Dennis hangs on the walls of City Council Chambers along side portraits of the mayors that followed in his footsteps through the 19th, 20th and into the 21st Century.
