February 3, 2022 City Council Meeting Recap:
- Mayor Quill Proclaimed February 2022 as Black History Month in the City. Courtney Rae Kasper, Visitor Experience Manager for the NYS Equal Rights Heritage Center presented to the City Council about the upcoming Harriet Tubman Bicentennial celebration that will take place in Auburn with events throughout 2022. Historians identify 1822 as the year of Tubman's birth. A website www.HarrietTubman200.com has been launched that will contain all information about events associated with the year long celebration. Kick-off ceremonies are being planned for Harriet Tubman Day which is March 10, 2022.
- Council Resolution #19 of 2022 - Authorizing a Public Hearing Regarding Local Law #1 of 2022, which Adopts Real Property Law Section 458-b and Eliminates the 10-year Limit on the Cold War Veterans Tax Exemption. Carried 4-0. View.
- Council Resolution #20 of 2022 - Approving the Submission of the 2022-2023 Annual Action Plan for Community Development Block Grant Program. Carried 4-0. View.
- Grant Acceptance Resolution #21 of 2022 - Accepting Funding from the US Department of Justice for a Body-Worn Camera Policy and Implementation Program. Carried 4-0. View.
