  • City Council held a Public Hearing regarding LOCAL LAW #1 OF 2022 ENACTING THE ADOPTION OF SECTION 458-b OF THE REAL PROPERTY TAX LAW PROVIDING FOR COLD WAR VETERANS EXEMPTION FROM REAL PROPERTY TAXES AND ELIMINATION OF THE 10 YEAR LIMIT. This Local Law will be voted on by the Council at the March 3, 2022 Council meeting.
  • Council Resolution #23 of 2022 Approving Submission of the 2020 Annual Action Plan Amendment for the Community Development Block Grant Program. Carried 5-0. Allocates CDBG-CV funding for Housing Programs $34,883.25 The COVID-19 Landlord Assistance Program is intended for City of Auburn landlords operating a building with 1-4 units with tenants who have COVID related income loss, and as a result, have been unable to pay rent. The maximum grant amount available is $5,000 and is limited to minor repairs to the unit or up to 2- months of mortgage/tax payments (taxes must be in escrow to qualify). Tenants must meet household income eligibility and proof of COVID related income loss. The availability of this grant is extremely limited and will be provided on a first come, first served basis. Landlords will be monitored for two years to ensure affordable rent is charged and that units are rented to tenants of low to moderate income.
  • Appointment Resolution #24 of 2022 Confirming and Appointment to the Auburn Industrial Development Authority. Carried 5-0. Mayor Quill recommended Ms. Lisa Green to serve as a member of the Auburn Industrial Development Authority (AIDA) Board of Directors. She will be filling the vacancy created by an at large member of the board that resigned his position. Ms. Green is the Business Executive for the Auburn Enlarged City School District and previously served as the Comptroller of the City of Auburn.
