Special Recognition and Achievements

Member of Syracuse Regional Airport Authority - The Syracuse Regional Airport Authority is a public benefit corporation. It is established to provide the necessary tools and support to Syracuse Hancock International Airport to maintain and operate the facilities in a safe, secure and efficient manner. It promotes the growth and success of the Syracuse Hancock International Airport by overseeing fiscal responsibility, regional marketing, and job creation in the aviation industry, and those industries that support aviation.

Member of New York Municipal Insurance Reciprocal (NYMIR) Board of Governors - The NYMIR Board of Governors was founded in 1993. It is comprised of 13 elected and appointed officials from villages, towns and counties across the state. The board provides insurance coverage and risk management services to New York State municipalities. This collaboration has stabilized the municipal insurance market, reduced rates, provided insurance coverage, and risk management recommendations.

Appointed by Governor Andrew Cuomo to the “Central New York Regional Economic Development Council” - The Central New York Regional Economic Development Council (REDC) is new approach to economic development that will empower the Central New York Region as a prime driver for job creation and economic growth by maximizing the area’s unique assets and addressing the specific challenges and needs of local communities.  Mayor Quill will serve as an important part of this local initiative and contributor to the development of their Strategic Plan.

Appointed to the New York State Conference of Mayor’s Nominating Committee - In the spring of 2011, Mayor Quill was appointed to the eight-member Nominating Committee of the New York State Conference of Mayors (NYCOM).  The nominating committee was responsible for assembling the slate of officers to be elected during the Annual Meeting in Saratoga Springs.  The Conference of Mayors has been in existence since 1910, representing  590 cities and villages in New York State.

Member of the Cayuga Economic Development  Agency (CEDA) - CEDA is chartered to provide “first stop” assistance to businesses of all sizes and to support business retention, expansion and relocation. The principle of the “first stop” is to provide businesses with a single source for business development resources.  The 15 member Board of Directors, the majority of which represent the private business and development sectors in Cayuga County, is balanced by key members of County and City of Auburn government, the Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce and the County’s two Industrial Development Authorities. Mayor Quill is an Ex-Officio member, now in his second year with CEDA.
